In this moving, two-part episode, the Ingalls have moved to the city in the hopes of making a better living. While the city offers more money, it is a harsh place, ruled by the heartless and corrupt Mr. Standish who rules everyone and everything in town with an iron hand. Ray Bolger guest stars as a bumbling old man who inadvertently helps the Ingalls and their neighbors decide to return to Walnut Grove. But Walnut Grove has been reduced to a dying town filled with bitter people and broken dreams. It will take all the Ingalls' love and devotion — and a heartwarming miracle — to rebuild a shattered community into a thriving home on the prairie.
